The Book
AN UNFINISHED MEMOIR
I spent years believing I had lost myself.
This is the story of what happened when I stopped trying to find my way back.
FROM THE MANUSCRIPT
There is a particular kind of silence that arrives when you finally stop performing yourself. It isn’t peaceful at first. It’s unfamiliar. Without the roles, the noise, the constant forward motion. I could hear how loud I had been for so long and how far I had drifted from the person underneath it all.
That silence was not the end. It was the beginning.
FROM THE MANUSCRIPT
I used to think healing meant fixing what was broken. Now I see it differently. It was never about becoming someone new, but about returning to what had always been true. The descent stripped away everything that wasn’t mine. It hurt. It humbled me. And in that unraveling, I found a steadier kind of freedom, not the freedom to be anything but the freedom to be myself.
I am still becoming. But for the first time, I am not lost on the way.
